march madness

80 inches in 5 days
Durango finally celebrated winter. So much for the flip flops. I pulled out the pink Roxy boots (and as cute as they are, I’d prefer they stay in the back row of the closet), the trainer (not even Ned was riding), the snowboard and a sled to sail down 29th.

The Alma is in the house. It’s so hot it will make you want to go back to a hard tail. Awww, yea. Thanks Ronnie! And Suzanne, for the -seen in Japanese Vogue- Exteondo kit. Sweetness.

training
I was in Bend this week to work with the one and only, always out of control, Andy. His most helpful tip had nothing to do with training - he showed me how to open a beer using a Shimano mountain bike pedal. The always in control, Justin, ran me through an extreme strength session, loading the squat rack with 45’s until I collapsed.

Andy wondering how long can this take?

mud and blood
The last few days I’ve been sliding around in the mud in the Gulch. Today’s hot lap resulted in a bloody crash. Not a good look for tonight’s photo shoot.

race report
Many D-town racers headed to New Mexico this weekend for 2 days of racing. Irene joined Nina on the podium and Miles finished the day in 10th. Must have been those spin ups-s-s at the infamous Thursday Niter.

sunny and 70

It’s been spring like weather at Purgatory. We found a little snow to play in but the only ripping was on J and his big butt. Snapped the pic, fired a snowball and it was full on war.

Back in town it’s been miniskirt and flip flop weather. McKenzie was up last weekend for the Saturday ritual: ride, burritos, coffee, dog run, eat more burritos, drink more coffee.

Now that I’ve finished up design work for the mad scientist in Oregon, I’m on to Erin’s real estate booklet. That may be the end of my moonlighting since travel days start soon. There have been many volunteers to be my support crew in Curacao - too bad none of them can wrench! There is so much going and so little time to write but 2 things I must mention: Beckie won a silver at the Olympics and Cale shaved his beard.
